it had been raining all day, and it was no different as i clocked out and walked to my car. my brother called me as i was leaving work tonight to check up on me. i haven’t heard from big bro in a couple months, but it was nice to hear he was doing well. on the way home, i saw emergency trucks picking up fallen trees and driving off with their sirens on alert. it was windy, but not enough to make me anxious. thinking of how mild we had it compared to florida had me thinking of all the homeless people in cities such as miami and ft. lauderdale who couldn’t evacuate. i sent a prayer up as i navigated cautiously through the charlotte back roads on my way home.
hurricane irma has the southeast in a frenzy (north carolina included) but it’s calming to know people are thinking of you. i hope they know i’m thinking of them, too.
