i’ve been feeling indifferent lately, which is leading me to be lazy. i barely made it out of the house to take bagel on a walk today. days like these make me thankful to have bagel–even more than normal–because he’s my buddy throughout this part of the journey, and because of that, i’m trying to make sure i’m the best i can be to him while we’re here together.
thinking like that makes me not so indifferent after all.

when i got home from work tonight, i checked facebook. i had a notification from your mother. she commented on my letter to you from november of last year. she told me she knew you got my message. i went to your page and she posted on your wall that she got flowers for you a couple days ago. it was a bouquet of pink roses. she also visited your memorial tree a few months ago. i have yet to go, but this fall i promise you i will.
it’s been a while since i’ve tried speaking to you, but in the absence of words and in the presence of distance, know we all still miss and love you.
