during lunch, i served a reservation for a party of 9. come to find out the lady they were there for had been living in charlotte for 21 years (since 1996) and she was moving to ohio for a new job. that’s exciting. she’s been here since i was 3 years old??? that’s a looooooooong time. on the way out, i held the door open for her, and she thanked me by my name. how awesome is that? i told her my name one time and she remembered it. i’ll probably never see her again, but i wished her well and hoped her future would be full of life and blessings.
