nyc

s2; ep9, 7.30.17

i could watch episode 9 of season 2 of master of none over and over. the visuals are stunning and the emotions the characters feel are ones that transcend the screen and make you feel things you wished you’ve felt before. i’ve always romanticized new york city as a place where dreams come true and people find love. it’s been 13 years since i’ve been, and i don’t think i can wait any longer.

i wonder if the city will treat me the way it did when i was an 8 year-old kid. i’m ready to see the statue of liberty, the sky scrapers, the life, the food, and the possibility. hopefully i’ll run into dev and francesca while i’m there, too. i’ll get to telling them how they inspired me to miss a place i’ve never loved.

nyc 2001, 6.21.17

at guardian angel, there was a guide to nyc for the year 2001. 2001 was when the twin towers were knocked down, so i was curious to see if there were pictures of the world trade centers in the book. common knowledge lets me know this book was published before 2001, most likely in the latter months of 2000, but i just had to look for the twin towers. of course there were photos of them in there. it’s kind of wild looking back in retrospect thinking of how the makers of this book would’ve never thought within a year of publishing their guide to nyc, that the twin towers would both be knocked down.
