riding with the windows down, moon roof included, after work tonight was blissful. there wasn’t much traffic, no humidity whatsoever, and you could even smell the burgers being cooked from the street light in front of burger king. i had the radio turned to 92.7, (or was it 97.9, or was it 103.3??) and a song begins to play that i’ve never heard before. i hear “i know i’ve been slacking, but i can love you better.” i’m in tune with it immediately. i’m never on my phone when i drive, but i had to shazam it. when i got home, i played it back to back to back to back to back for a couple of hours straight. finding your new favorite song is one of the many joys of life.
