i know it’s not good to live with regrets, but one of my regrets goes back to the summer of 2015 when my parents were living in athens, georgia. anyone who knows, knows i love tupac. matter fact, rewind to either 7th or 8th grade. an indian girl who knew nothing about rap, but knew she liked me and knew i liked pac, bought me pac’s life for christmas one year. in the pac’s life video, they’re performing in front of a tupac statue at the tupac center for the arts. the tupac center for the arts is located in stone mountain, which is near atlanta. athens is about an hour from stone mountain, and one night when i was listening to my tupac catalogue on shuffle, pac’s life came up and i was reminded of the statue and how the center for the arts was in stone mountain.
upon some 3am research, the center was closed, but the statue was still there. there was a fence blocking off the building, but there was a gap beneath in which you could crawl under. i never had the guts to go, and they eventually took out the statue sometime later. i wish i would’ve convinced myself to go 2 summers ago, but hey that’s life and life comes with regrets.
sometimes you forget, sometimes you’re reminded when pac’s life comes on shuffle when you’re in the shower.
