i got my license january 2010 when i was almost 17. it was junior year of high school, and most my peers had already had their l’s since sophomore year. when i got my license, i hit the malls all the time with my homeboy emilio. we’d been best friends since 7th grade, and we used to always put each other onto new music. we made hella mix cd’s for the whip and i came across one of them today. i listened to it on the way to and from work. there were a few songs i forgot about, but most i remembered. some i haven’t heard in years which sparked my memory. filled with more than just drake and cudi songs, i found some pieces of a 17 year-old me i had forgot about and it felt good to know him again, albeit only for my 24 year-old me’s commute to work.
