i made a run to sam’s tonight to pick up a few things. as i was passing the ipad section, i recognized a face. when he turned around, we gave each other a handshake. it was caleb! i’ve seen caleb a few times randomly these past few years. he always addresses me by name, which may seem common, but isn’t when you know the person by name. addressing by name is a good thing by the way. for example, with friends i interact with, i use pronouns like yo, my dude, my guy, etc. well anyways, we began catching up. i notice he’s standing with a girl, who i think is his girlfriend. he introduces her to me by referring to her as his wife! yo, that’s exciting! they got married last summer and live in charlotte now. she’s a retail photographer and he still does magic, but now for corporate events. then he introduces me to her mentioning he’s told her about me a few times. caleb is one of the kindest guys, man. we met freshman year through nahrion. it’s awesome how he turned his hobby into his career. i respect that and am happy for him. i hope when we get up to catch up he’ll let me in on his secret to doing that. it would be dope to get paid to write, take photos, and make music.
