finding new places, 11.28.17

on the way home, i saw an older hibachi spot on the other side of the highway. i made an exit, turned around, and decided to eat there. once i walked inside, it looked straight out the 90’s. i love places like these, much like saigon palace, because it brings an odd sense of nostalgia to the experience of dining in. espn was playing on a large television, which was hanging crooked. i had the shrimp and chicken teriyaki, and it was delicious. upon checking out, my server asked me how old i was. i told him 24 and asked him how old he was. he said he turned 23 yesterday and that he’s working on catching up to me. we shared a laugh as i left. i told him i’ll be back soon because the food was great, the sweet tea was perfect, and the service was phenomenal.

i think i’m going to take alexis here, she’d love it.
