i woke up to the news that aim is shutting down after 20 years. i love aim very much. i wish it was still relevant. i actually had a conversation with my girl on aim 2 months ago. i miss coming home to log on aim to catch up with friends. talk about things we couldn’t talk about in between classes at school. make plans for the weekend. what i liked about aim was it was convenient, but not too convenient. friends were an instant message away, but only unless you were by a computer. with smartphones and social media, everybody is available at any given second. it makes it more difficult to appreciate conversation and genuine interaction.
at least that’s my take on things. aim, you will be missed.
i love you, thanks for the last 13 years.
