my mom and i always thrift together. it’s our hobby where we bond the most. one of our favorite stores is guardian angel in fuquay. somehow, they seem to receive the best donations. my favorite section is the book section and i found some interesting things there today.
one book that was interesting was a book on the roadtrips/drives of a lifetime. i saw it was published by national geographic, so i had to check it out. when i opened the book, there was a message dated back to december of 2013. it read;
“you pick, we go!!! let’s live adventurous, curious lives from now on! love, david”
i couldn’t help but to think this book was donated after a break up. the message seemed full of hope, but the fact i was reading it made it sad. broken promises, much? also, it was signed david. i had to pick it up. i felt a responsibility to purchase it and live out as much of an adventurous, curious life as i could, beginning with this book.
