i went to visit the linn cove viaduct and drove through boone and blowing rock. being up there felt like i was more than 2 hours away from home. it was like a whole other world. the air felt cleaner, the people were dressed for much colder weather, just everything about their culture was much different than it was in charlotte. i enjoyed my few hours hiking and driving the blue ridge parkway, which i would have to agree it was as beautiful as the internet said it would be. i should make more day trips to the mountains. thinking about it, i want to visit pisgah and grandfather mountain again. although the city and the mountains are two polar opposite places, they share one thing in common, they’re both getaways from each other.
