my cassette player stopped working so i’ve been listening to the radio a lot more. there’s this radio station in boston at 96.9 fm that plays throwbacks. as i’m crossing the bridge into cambridge, they begin playing tupac. not the hits, but a song from a compilation album with the outlawz. it was keep your head up part 2. i haven’t heard that song since high school. i was so surprised to hear it but i wasn’t complaining. tupac has been gone for 28 years now and he’s still getting radio play.
that’s amazing.

at work, we treat fridays like a mini holiday. not really, but at least that’s what i think when i hear somebody tell me happy friday. someone told me happy monday today and i’m like man, we giving mondays the same treatment now?? i know it was told to me in good faith with no malicious intent, but damn i’d like to just be happy with no specific days attached to it. i know it’s not that serious and i’m overanalyzing something said to me this morning, but damn i needa get out this rat race. oh, and here’s a reminder that today is 11-11 so don’t forget to make a wish.
though don’t tell anybody even if it’s obvious….

i went to costco with my mom tonight to pick up a few things. while i was there, i ordered the double chunk chocolate cookie. it was my first time having it and i gotta agree with big aj: definitely 5 booms lmaooooooooo. i should’ve gotten two, but i’ll remember for next time.

i was craving gnocchi tonight so i drove to olive garden in danvers after the gym. when i arrived, it was packed, but the bar was empty so i sat there. there was a guy who was serving me but he disappeared halfway through my meal, but the girl working was sweet as she took care of me. i overheard another worker asking her if she enjoyed working the bar and she said no. i felt bad because she may have been covering for someone the way she answered the question. at the end of the meal, she gave me a gnocchi to-go and even offered to bag my food for me. that was kind of her. as i was leaving, the tape player on the sequoia stopped working which was an inconvenience, but not a surprise as it’s 21 years old. i wanted a sweet treat so i went to five guys. as i went in, i held the door open for the gentleman behind me. i ordered a strawberry milkshare. i was order 15 and when the worker called my order, he called 16, which was the guy behind me. when i went to pick up my shake i saw that order 16 was also a shake. as i was leaving, i held the door open for him one more time and he told me “good choice.” i looked at him and told him it was worth the drive. we laughed before wishing each other good night. i just got back home and i think i’m catching the itis. i still have to shower, record, and write a few things but i think i’ll lay here for a little longer.

i just finished vacuuming. i’m about to find something to eat, then put up my christmas tree. it’s about that time of the year again. also, today i checked my spotify and i’m at 208 monthly listeners!! it may not seem like much, but it’s the most i’ve ever had. let’s hope it continues to grow. after the tree is up, i gotta hit the stu to record this new track i’m working on called transparency.
it’s an easy friday night and i can’t complain.

we went to capital grille tonight. though i had heard of capital grille before, it was my first time. the food was actually very good. they had a crab cake mixed with pieces of lobster in it. had to be one of my favorite apps i’ve ever had. i got creamed corn along with the ribeye. the meal itself was pretty good. it may be better than ruth, but not as good as abe & louie’s or pellana. i also have to try smith and wollensky soon. it’s been a while since i’ve ate at a steak house and i’m getting that itch again.

i had my annual today. the doctor said my dental health was some of the best she had seen and i am in great shape, but that i do need to prioritize getting sleep and eating better. afterwards, i went down to get my blood taken. i always get the full blood panel as well as the full sti panel. the lady brought out about 8 tubes that needed to be filled and i almost passed out then. luckily for me i made it through. then i made my way for a meal to chipotle afterwards. when i asked for the vinaigrette, the lady gave me two. as i was walking away she hands me a water cup (unprompted) and asks me if i was going to be thirsty lmaoo. it was a kind gesture so i thanked her and went to enjoy my meal. the bad was i got my blood taken, but the good was the half-day of work i got off for it.
i guess it evens itself out on this wednesday.

when i travel, i always try to buy bagel some treats or a toy for when i come home. yesterday at southpoint, e and i stopped at a pet store. they had a lot of different food for different animals from different animals. i bought bagel two rabbit patties, a pig snout (yes an actual pig snout), and a water buffalo ear. the ear still had hair on it so i was wondering if bagel would eat it or not. when i came home, i walked bagel, then gave him the ear. to my surprise he ate it with no hesitation. towards the end he began choking, but luckily, he coughed up the piece he was eating after the 5th or 6th time. it was scary as there was so much saliva coming up as well. luckily, all is safe but next time i’ll have to cut the ear into smaller pieces.
i almost had a heart attack, so that would’ve been two of us suffering lol.

before e came over, chan took me to a place called bulbox. it’s a korean inspired quick bite, but it was so damn good. they also give you a lot of food for what you pay for, at least compared to the boston area. i realized today i’m beginning to really love avocados. my meals and salads are much better with them. though i don’t know what i like about them, i just know i like them. a lot. after lunch, chan went back to work and e and i went to southpoint like old times. after the mall, we met up with chaz and hooped at salamanders until the sun went down. we hooped for a little over 2 hours and according to my apple watch i burned 1500 calories. we hit smoothie king afterwards and all caught up until they closed. i missed these days being out with my brothers hooping, talking, and hanging out. i’ve known e and chaz for damn near 20 years at this point and i’m so thankful to have them in my life.
what a good monday.

chan and i hit waffle house this morning. they changed the machines because the waffle doesn’t have the waffle house logo in the middle anymore. still, it was as good as i remembered it. chan got chili on his hashbrowns, which is a game changer. afterwards, we went to apex community park to hoop with chaz. hooped and talked for about 3 hours then went to hibachi. the hibachi in cary wasn’t as good as the one we went to last week, but it was still pretty decent. i just got back to the house and i’m about to watch indy take on the vikings on sunday night football.
what a beautiful sunday.
