i feel like there’s a few updates i have to tell you.
first, i had to pay excise tax (which i thought i had already paid) this past week. they sent me the bill two months ago, but i ignored it because i thought it was paid when i did my registration. they sent me another bill last week with a ‘demand’ fee added on which was equivalent to almost half the taxes. i stopped in to the townhall to see what it was about, and they refused to take off the demand fee, so i ended up paying it later that day, smh. massachusetts taxes the shit out of you, yet you’ll never see the benefits of it. an interesting thing i spotted while i was in the office was a date about some abutter tax (more tax). the date was bagel’s actually birthday. september 12th 2012. i have never seen his actual birthday out in the wild like that, so that was cool. it was like when i went to open the bathroom door at the fix burger bar and saw bagel written on the back.
second, is since 2004/2005 i’ve always wanted a pair of lebron 2’s. they recently retro’d within the last few months for a price of $210, but i was able to get them shipped for $107. i got the usa colorway but will think about picking up the maccabi joints if they drop even more. it’s something about 2000’s nike basketball that does it for me. that was definitely the peak and i’m so glad it was during childhood/adolescence. they also came in within one day, so i’m not complaining.
three, a number has been blowing me up telling me i owe money on my spectrum account. i haven’t had spectrum internet since i moved here in january 2021. i keep ignoring it, then i get a text yesterday telling me if i don’t pay they’ll stop service. i go to spectrum’s official site and call them. i get an automated message saying i owe around $250 and it needs to be paid by today, june 5th. when i get through to a representative, he asks for my name and number. i give both to him and he says it shows i owe nothing. then he asks about addresses i could have lived at, and when i gave him my last address, he said it isn’t associated with my name. he did find it strange that the automated message told me i owed money but assured me he wasn’t seeing anthing on his end. my main concern is someone stealing my id or my credit score being affected. i don’t know what else to do, so i’ll monitor my credit score in the meantime.
four, the heat won last night and are headed back to miami with the series tied 1-1.
i’m trying to think if there’s anything else, but i’m probably forgetting something. i’ll come back and update if there’s any more i remember.
