million-dollar smiles at ipswich, 9.9.22

i was walking bagel tonight at ipswich when i walked past an older gentleman walking with a slight limp. when i walk past people, i always say hi and ask them how they’re doing it. i waved and said hi to him. he told me i had a beautiful dog and i must’ve have laughed when i thanked him because he said i had a million-dollar smile. lowkey it made my day lol. even though it’s only a six-figure smile right now, give it a year and i got a good feeling it’ll be a million by then.

:))))))))))))

thursday night football, 9.8.22

i skipped fantasy football this year because i get obsessive with it and it gets stressful during the holidays, but i will not be skipping football. i love football and it is back officially starting tonight. the rams take on the bills and i have the bills winning. the chargers take on the raiders on sunday and the colts take on the texans. two divisional match-ups for both my teams. that’s two w’s to start out the seasonnnnnnnnnnnn.

i’m celebrating with pad thai and egg rolls from ginger gourmet.

rip posts, 9.7.22

i was on the phone with e last night and he asked if i heard that one of our classmates from hshs passed away. i told him nah, and asked what happened. e said he didn’t know. i wasn’t close with the guy, but it makes me anxious hearing people our age or younger pass away. i searched his facebook and found out he killed himself. i remember seeing him almost every day for years because we went to high school together. we may have even went to middle school with each other at holly ridge, though my memory is a bit hazy from that time. i think about how there are so many people we cross paths with and how we eventually all go our separate ways. it’s so sad. i told e he committed suicide and e asked if i remembered the girl who committed suicide a few years ago that we also went to school with. i totally forgot about her. i don’t want to remember these things because when i think about it, the names start adding up.

sometimes i just want to go back to the mid-2000’s when we were all kids and

everybody was happy, and if we said weren’t happy, we were just going through teenage angst.

cleaning out, 9.6.22

the more i look at my sneaker room downstairs, the more i realize i don’t need 90% of my sneakers. i don’t wear them much because i wear dress shoes at work 5 days out the week. all i really need is basketball shoes, running shoes, an all-white pair of forces, and the occasional kobe to bring out during the weekends.

at times in this life, we convince ourselves we need much more than we actually do.

this is one of those times for me.

labor day '22, 9.5.22

i remember on labor day last year, i had to go into work for an experiment. it wasn’t terrible, just a few hours. i got cfa breakfast, and while we were leaving, we saw stuart and he gave us 3 beers he had in the fridge. crazy how that was a year ago already. this year for labor day i treated myself to ginger gourmet. sushi and general tso’s chicken with rice. it was so good, but i notice, every time i eat at ginger gourmet, i get no cell service. it’s peculiar because when i go into stop & shop on the same strip, i’ve never had a problem my cell phone. at least, i haven’t noticed. now that i’m thinking about it, verizon definitely is falling off. i don’t know if it’s my phone (it shouldn’t be) but the service now is outta whack. i never experienced this before with verizon, but i brought it up to my dad recently, and he agreed.

i’m getting off topic, but happy labor day.

i hope you didn’t work too hard today.

new hampshire errands, 9.4.22

i went to new hampshire to purchase a planer, a few 4x8s, and a few other things for the deck. while i was there, i stopped by the ll bean store to pick up a new bowl for bagel for his birthday. it’s actually a really nice bowl (in my opinion) and i think bagel will like it, too. actually, he probably doesn’t care to be honest lol. it’ll replace the water bowl he has in my room. it’s a cheap plastic bowl i bought from walmart for a dollar years ago, and he definitely deserves better. i bought him a custom wood stand, too, so hopefully it ships on time.

papa gino's, 9.3.22

there’s a place i see off main street, papa gino’s, that i’ve never been to. i’m rarely in the mood for pizza, but i was after a walk in the park earlier this week. when i went to their website, they literally sell way more than pizza. i was surprised because i never thought of eating there. they have chicken fingers, meatball subs, burgers, pasta, and more. i got the fingers, a hotdog, and cinnamon sticks earlier this week. today i went back for the cinnamon sticks, fingers, and the pizza. i know papa gino’s is a chain, but it’s so damn good. plus the cinnamon sticks are like the old domino’s ones, which was my favorite in high school.

maybe north reading isn’t as bad of a food desert as i once thought it was.

still pretty bad, but papa gino’s makes it a bit better.

listening to the music, 9.2.22

tonight, i went out to dinner with dad and uncle dave. we ate at uburger in andover. afterwards, we walked around andover on a chilly friday evening. uncle dave was telling me about the andover bookstore that was over 300 years old. they demolished the building, but it moved across the street. we even sat outside and listened to two guys play a guitar and a saxophone. the music was so smooth, it was the perfect soundtrack for a lively friday night in downtown andover.

i definitely have to come back to try more restaurants, listen to more music, and have more conversation with the people i wish more life for.

welcome september, 9.1.22

regardless of whenever the seasons actually start/end, september is the beginning of fall to me. whenever bagel and i are at the park, it is more noticeable that the sun is setting earlier. it has also been chillier at night, like an uncomfortable chilly when i’m in shorts and a shirt. fall used to be my favorite time of the year, but i find myself wishing there was more daylight and warmth to my days as we get closer towards to the end of the year.

welcome september.
