winning the kd way, 6.12.17

i ordered two teriyaki plates for myself to-go from ishi for game 5 tonight. as expected, the warriors handled the cavs and kd got his first championship. i love watching sports for the competitiveness, the emotional ties, and the excitment. even if teams i don’t care for, or don’t like win, there’s still beauty in the sportsmanship, the hard work, and the journey.

for example, as much of a rival as i am to unc, seeing them win this year was respectable. i didn’t want to see them win, but i know those guys worked hard, stayed with it, and came full circle on their road to redemption from their 2015 loss. regardless of my perspective on the team, i can always see the passion within the players, the staff, and the faculty. this year with the warriors winning, i didn’t feel any of that. it was the most unrespectable championship win in the history of sports. how do you go to a team that beat you because you couldn’t find it within yourself to close them out? not to mention a team that statistically was the best in the history of the league? 73-9?

i guess it’s logical to go to a team that puts you in the best position to win, but where’s the balance between logic and emotions? where’s the heart?
