ohtani had his pitching debut tonight. he pitched for 1 inning before being pulled. after, he went straight to hit. the more i watch baseball, the crazier that is to me. they said on the telecast that kids do that in middle school and high school, and even some in college, but nobody does that in the majors. to be a starting pitcher and a dh, that’s like being the starting qb and the starting linebacker.
that’s insanity, actually.

i saw on twitter that today is the 15th anniversary of drake’s debut album thank me later. i remember going to buy that album from target in beaver creek on the day of release. i had on a drake shirt with the dmp bred 1’s. what a time it was. thank me later along with man on the moon by cudi was the soundtrack to that summer. it was the summer i met kellz, and what a wonderful time it was. 15 years flies by, but damn summer of 2010 was legendary. i’d give up a lot to go back to this day 15 years ago.
to be 17 driving off from target in a 1999 camry hearing karaoke for the first time…

today marks the 13th saturday in a row that boston has had rain. that is a record. lowkey i love the rain, but damn, it’d be nice to not have my only full day off be all rain sometimes. it’s so nice during the week when i’m stuck in lab, but at least i get to take a breather and walk some days.
they’re hoping for next saturday to be the saturday to break the streak and i’m hoping so, too.

last night on tiktok i gained 3 new followers for my writing account. that’s the most i’ve had in one day! it’s the new aesthetic, but i’d like to think the writing has a little bit to do with it as well.
even if it doesn’t.

i don’t get much sleep many nights, but it was even less last night. i was tossing and turning, then bagel wanted to go out at 2:30am. it’s true when they say dogs feed off our energy, because i’ve observed when i sleep through the night, bagel will, too. but if i don’t, he won’t either. i let him out and he went to sleep on the family room couch. i was able to fall asleep around 4am, then had to wake up when my alarm went off at 7:40am. it was a long day at work, but i was able to skip lunch to go to the gym. after ending the workday at 5pm, we hooped until 8pm. i stopped by taco bell to get a 20-piece nugget before heading home to eat and walk bagel for our daily (or in this case, nightly) mile. i just finished doing my 100 push-ups for the day and i’m just laying here exhausted.
it’s 11:54pm and tomorrow is the weekend so i’ll get to get some extra rest in, but it seems these days i’ll never pay off this debt that’s been compounding for years at this point.

tonight is game 3 of the nba finals. they’ve been calling tyrese haliburton the haliban as he’s been terrorizing the league in the playoffs. then, i saw on twitter a clip from the new netflix osama documentary where they called osama ‘the pacer’ because he would walk back and forth when they surveillanced him in pakistan at his compound. i didn’t catch on to that when i watched it and though haliburton’s nickname and the documentary has nothing to do with each other, it’s always comical when life hands you these types of coincidences.
i really do hope indiana wins a ring because tyrese has had one of the best playoffs speaking from a clutch perspective.

tonight, i had a phenomenal tomahawk ribeye. it was 22oz and had sweet onions on top of it. i usually don’t eat steak with any sauce or any toppings, but this was different as that’s how it came. i couldn’t complain because it was soooo good. everybody likes steak and potatoes, specifically mashed potatoes. i’ve never really been big on mashed, but i do like to eat steak and fries. lately though? i’ve been enjoying steak with vegetables. asparagus is okay, but i really like medleys or broccoli.
it’s just too good.

i want to make a bad financial decision, but not because i want to for the sake of it, moreso there’s potentially something i want to buy that i may not have a chance to purchase for a while as the numbers of good condition ones are dwindling. we’ll see what the deal is when actual pictures are posted. it’s the cliche should i or should i not?
i think the better question we should be asking ourselves is will i regret this or will i not?

lakers have a tradition where they only wear white jerseys on sundays. throughout the years, i’ve had similar in terms of eating out. my weekend routine used to be maya, then it was wingstop, then it was sweetgreen (which it still kind of is), but now it’s kfc. i pulled up to the kfc in lawrence and got their two meal for $17. it was so damn good. this time, they even included a biscuit, which i usually am not fond of, but it was just as good as everything else. it’s ironic because t texted me earlier saying she went to bojangles and didn’t know the supremes came with a biscuit. apparently, the strips at kfc do, too.
i’m about to head to richardson’s for some milky way, then do some writing while game 2 of the nba finals plays in the background.

after watching the belmont stakes, congrats to soveirgnty btw, i was texing t about what to eat for dinner. i did some calorie counting with chipotle and decided to go for a salad instead of a bowl. did you know that their regular chicken has 50% more protein than their new honey chicken? if not, now you do. i went and got a salad with double chicken, half honey and half regular. it hit the spot, which makes sense seeing as i haven’t had chipotle in a minute. afterwards, i went to walmart in tewksbury to get some groceries for the week. supposedly mountain dew is releasing a new dragonfruit flavor that’s exclusive to walmart, so i looked for that but didn’t find it. what i did come across though was that a 12-pack of soda is $8.50. i couldn’t believe my eyes lmao. i don’t drink soda regularly, but $8.50 for a 12-pack?? that’s insane. i can’t imagine paying that much to drink 12 cans of soda, but the people that do probably would say the same thing about some of the things i spend my money on so i get it.
to an extent…
