the first (of many, hopefully), 4.30.24

i’ve been looking to buy a vehicle and i found one in rhode island that matched what i wanted including color, trim level, and features. my mom, my aunt, and i came down today to check it out. 3 hours later, we ended up walking out signing papers. i’m really excited because if the registration is done, i’ll have it by this weekend. it was a difficult car to find because they discontinued the car due to low sales, but i couldn’t escape wanting one. i felt like the stars aligned because it’s a very rare car, especially given the condition, the features, and the fact i was able to find one during the last model year they made it. 2024 has lowkey been one of the best years thus far from putting out music, to takings risks, to buying cars, to overall.

next up is a trip, but for now i have to buy a new key ring, make a copy of the house key, get some fragrances for the car, and a few other things i’m probably forgetting.

we’re close to finalizing troubled spirits. by the end of the week, we’ll submit it for mastering and then a week after that, we’ll submit it for distribution.

life has been crazy busy lately, but i’m trying to keep the momentum going.

7 years ago yesterday, i got into an accident with bagel in the backseat of the camry on our way to reedy creek. that was the end of the camborghini as we knew it, smh. i remember the guy driving off, then getting out, and talking to a bystander who was walking to family dollar to get his groceries. while waiting for the cops, the bystander came back and brought me a water bottle. that gesture has stuck with me through all these years. in fact, i never drank the water bottle. i kept it unopened and put it on display along with figures at the time. i still have the water bottle unopened. it’s in the basement and to this day, it still serves as a reminder of kindness and appreciation.

singing progress, 4.27.24

today might’ve been the best singing lesson i’ve had since i’ve began. we were doing falsetto work to expand my range, when my singing teacher showed me the progress i’ve made. he did it by asking me to sing different notes. he said that what was once out of my range is now in the middle of my range. i didn’t notice until he said something, but it was true. it made me confident that in the next 4/5 months, my range will expand even more, to which i’m excited about. though you have to keep moving forward in this life, sometimes you have to look back in order to notice your progress.

finding new favorites, 4.26.24

though it was a short work week, it was jam-packed and busy. as soon as i got home, i was going to lay in bed for a few minutes before getting up to walk bagel. as always, i woke up at 9:30pm. i ended up feeding bagel and taking him on a late-night walk. when it was my time to eat, i went to the silverware drawer to pull out a spoon and found one i haven’t ever seen. it’s a smaller spoon with a rose on top and two slits beneath it. i’ve never had silverware make me feel some type of way, but this spoon got a reaction out of me lol. the design is so flawless i was in awe. i stared at it for a minute or two before grabbing my food and going upstairs. we all have our favorite songs, movies, and even our favorite burner on the stovetop, but now i’ve got my favorite spoon.

i have to look into silverware, because these designs are fire.

i was talking to money about the nfl draft. i told him i wanted nabers from lsu, but we went with an oline instead. i can’t be mad, but nabers would’ve been nice. he slid down to the giants of all teams, smh. as i’m in the gym, money says “what if we took a qb at 8?” it was a joke, because no way the falcons would take a qb at 8 as they just signed kirk cousins to a big deal and his back up was their first round draft pick from a few years ago. literally at 8, the falcons pick a qb lmaooooo. penix jr is great, but i don’t know if atlanta needed a quarterback at the 8th pick, but maybe that’s why i’m not a general manager or associated with any football team in any capacity lol.

on another note, happy 41st anniversary to my mom and dad!!!

they needed a picture for our new badges and they denied my license picture lol. i don’t know what other professional looking photo i have, but now i’ll have to find or take a new one.

a good day at work, 4.23.24

i came in today and rucha says she heard my song and she liked it. then alan comes up to me and says that he listened and it was good. afterwards, sebastian comes up to me and told me he listened to and he was vibing with it. schuni said it was a hit and jennifer said atlanta, tampa was fire. it was humbling because i announced the song to drop at 9:19pm today, yet it’s not 9:19pm yet. the day goes by, we grab some haitian food for lunch and a grilled cheese from the food truck outside, then we go play basketball for the first time this year. i was lucky to go 1-0 during 5’s and 1-0 during what seemed like the longest game of 21 afterwards. as soon as i pull up to the court, scott says he has something for me. he pulls out a lil b sticker pack and said he thought of me!!! that shit had me so hype because not only was i not expecting it, but scott is one of a handful of people who love lil b like i love lil b. i gave him like two hugs as we laughed about it. i definitely have to frame the lil b yugioh sticker because that’s too legendary. you know, i’ve always prided myself on keeping my professional relations professional, but over time, a lot of people here are becoming family.

i must’ve done something right in another lifetime.

it was chilly af today, around 46 degrees, but it was the first cut of the season. that means for the next 6 months, i’ll be cutting the grass weekly. i can’t complain though because it’s a good workout and being outside is good for the soul. it gives me time to catch up on my podcasts and clear my mind.
