2022 spotify wrapped, 11.30.22

spotify wrapped came out today and drizzy is my most listened to artist. i’m not surprised at all, and i couldn’t imagine anyone who knows me is. he’s just too good. her loss was an elite album, one i think ranks 2nd only to take care in my opinion. anyways, after drake my most listened to artists were future, sy ari, kodak, and joe trufant in that order. i really love spotify wrapped, i be looking forward to it. i know apple has replay or whatever, but spotify wrapped is the best and i will maintain that spotify >>>> apple music all day and tomorrow.

planning tuesdays, 11.29.22

i’ve taken trips, but i haven’t really taken a vacation if that makes sense. to me, a vacation is going somewhere you’ve never been and being a tourist. all the trips i’ve taken within the past two years are to places i’ve already been to. atl, 919, minnesota, etc. don’t get me wrong, they’re all good trips, but i’m overdue for a vacation. tonight, i began planning a vacation i’m hoping to take in january. it’s overwhelming at first, but after a while, i catch my footing and start getting to know the area, which makes me feel more confident that something won’t go wrong during the trip. it’s nice to have some sort of comfort in an unfamiliar area, and if hours of research are the price, it’s worth every minute.

i’m excited because during the cold of the northeast, at least for a few days i’ll be somewhere warm with not a worry in the world.

cyber monday duds, 11.28.22

this black friday/cyber monday has been ass. none of the things i wanted have been on sale. it’s bad because i wanted to come up on a steal, but it’s good because i don’t need to spend money. however, i did sign up for hulu/disney + for $4.98/month tonight, which is cool because i’ve been wanted to get disney + for a few years now, but i’ve been procrastinating.

who says procrastination is always a bad thing?

fowl play, 11.27.22

i don’t like slaw, but i went to this joint called fowl play and they put slaw on their chicken sandwhich and it was flame. the chicken sandwhich was big af, too, which made me feel better about paying $12 for the combo. the fries were also very good, which was surprising. fries are hard to fuck up, so to cook/season them exceptionally is somewhat rare, but i thought fowl play did an excellent job. maybe it was the sauce they gave along with it or maybe i was just hungry, who knows, but regardless of appetite, i’ve never liked slaw and i enjoyed it this afternoon.

picnic table lunches, 11.26.22

i got a 10-piece nugget from wendys along with a double stack post running a few errands and post hitting the gym. it was relatively warm today compared to the averages around the end of november, so i brought bagel to the park. because it was warm in the sequoia, i didn’t bring a jacket, just a hoodie. half-way to the picnic table as the windchill was picking up, i definitely regretted not having an extra layer, but it was too late to turn around. i sat under a tree eating wendy’s as bagel sniffed around. i miss the warm weather so much. i can’t wait until the days get longer and the sun sets later, but since the fall is upon us, we’ll just make do and enjoy what we’re given.

dropping wallets, 11.25.22

after the gym, i was listening to a podcast eating chipotle. an older white lady comes and says something to me. i didn’t hear it, but i took my earbuds out to ask her what she said. she points down to the ground and asks if i dropped a wallet. i looked down and my wallet was laying wide open. i thanked her and wished her a happy holidays. that was so kind of her. most people would mind their business, and though i don’t blame them, it’s always appreciated when someone goes the extra step to make sure things are how they should be.

thanksgiving 22', 11.24.22

i’m typically not a fan of thanksgiving, but i have grown an appreciation for it. it is true the more the merrier, because now that i spend time with extended family, i look forward to these things. tonight, i went over my ming’s house. as soon as i pulled up, there were 20 some cars lined up on her street. everyone was there for khmer thanksgiving. i walked in and it was too many people i had never seen before. i got a plate, saw my dad, and sat next to him. my uncle was crazy drunk, but that’s to be expected at family functions when there’s what seems to be unlimited alcohol. i ended up eating a few tacos, some corn, and two bowls of lasagna. the lasagna was so fire, i had never had anything like it. i ended up talking to my cousin about investing and buying real estate for the last hour or so while watching the giants take on the cowboys. these past two turkey days have been really good, and it’s helping me slowly shift my thoughts on thanksgiving. thanksgiving has a little more meaning to it as well because it was the first holiday bagel and i ever spent together.

i guess thanksgiving isn’t so bad after all.

wednesdays before thanksgiving, 11.23.22

today was supposed to be an easy half-day, but we got hit with an experiment right before i arrived at the office. i wasn’t too happy, but it is a job after all. plus, i tend to get lazy the day before a long weekend/break. instead of leaving at noon, i didn’t leave until 2:30pm. still, not too bad at all. by the time i get home it’ll be light outside, which is a nice change from walking in the dark these past few weeks with bagel. plus, it’s a 4-day weekend. and i’ll get a bonus on friday. and it’s pay day, too.

i guess the least i could do was stay a little extra today given the circumstances.

tuesday before thanksgiving commutes, 11.22.22

i had to be at work at 7am. as soon as i get on i-93 southbound, it’s bumper to bumper. it was 6:02am! i said fuck it and got some breakfast at chick-fil-a. from there, the gps took me the local route through medford. i just got here and it’s 7:18am. i’m kind of full from the chicken biscuit and i got my favorite parking spot on the 2nd floor under the west end. maybe things aren’t so bad after all.

but then again, i haven’t stepped foot in the office yet.

mondays off, 11.21.22

i took monday off (again) because i have pto days to burn, which means tomorrow will feel super long. but it’s okay because that means what was a 3-day work week, turns into a two-day work week, but those two days will go by like 5 days.

at least i’ll have thursday and black friday off, thanks to thanksgiving.
