the parlays and pick em, 10.31.22

e sends me parlays he is betting on every night. he is also on our weekly pick em. this weekend he has been hitting on several of the parlays, which makes me want to go in with him. the issue is it’s gambling and i feel like i can easily become addicted. there’s currently 5 people in line to win pick em, and e is one of them. he needs the total score of the bengals/browns game to be 54.

i think there’s a good chance, and i hope he starts the week with a little weekend parlay momentum.

an afternoon in boston, 10.30.22

the chargers had a bye this week so i hit downtown boston for the afternoon. parked at the prudential and walked newbury street. cncpts had a line, but it seemed like a cool store. i’ll have to stop by one day when it’s not so busy. i had jp licks (again). the salted caramel chocolate chip is undefeated. nothing good was at the nike store, but then again, i never buy nike in person. the sales is always online. it was warm for this time of year, yet it was chilly without a long sleeve. it was perfect layer weather, but i didn’t like my hoodie i wore so i went without. i should’ve worn a flannel, but somehow that never crossed my mind when getting dressed. the night ended with italian at some joint near cambridge. it wasn’t a night to remember because nothing “special” happened, but these are the nights i’ll miss most when i look back on things. enjoying the moment is always the goal, but i really need to take more photos on nights like these.

growing up, shop rite had a big ass drive-in theatre to the left of it, on the side of eckerds. i never went, but because it was always there, i thought it was a normal thing until i moved from warwick. i’ve never been to one until tonight. we pulled in, parked the sequoia backwards, turned the radio station to 90.7, then opened the windows. i really loved the experience. although we couldn’t have the car on, the blankets kept us somewhat warm during a very chilly saturday night. the movie was smile. jaanntrear said the movie wasn’t that good, and i’m inclined to agree with her. perhaps my judgement is clouded by the fact i haven’t seen too many horror films, but the premise was actually really good. it also didn’t help that i fell asleep for 15-20 minutes during. i think the ending was too predictable, but i still loved everything about tonight. after the film, i went to use the restroom. when i walked in, it was pretty clean for the traffic it was getting. they also had a silence of the lambs and godfather poster in there among other classic films, so that was a plus. the night was topped off with a mcflurry and good conversation on the way home.

bout as good as a first time could have went, so i’m satisfied.

i spent 2 hours yesterday running/tracking down samples for a master database i created a template for. today, i found out it was deleted smh. after i found out, i closed my laptop and went to the gym. i’m here right now getting a good pump in. i feel i deserve korean bbq tonight from sura because it’s been a long ass week.

good thing i’m taking monday off, so it’s only right i finish with a long weekend.

god has been stepping in lately. he’s been cutting things off that aren’t meant to be (i guess). sometimes i wish instead of closing off the wrong roads, he’d just lead me in the right direction.

but maybe closing certain things off is his way of leading me down the right path.

i remember when the north face and kaws dropped in march of this year, i went to the north face store in boston to ask if they had a specific jacket. they said they didn’t, but to check back online as it kept restocking. i never got it. kaws and the north face just dropped another collab, and as i’m looking around, endclothing has the jacket from back in march. the north face is kind of like carhartt to where their clothes fit a little boxy, so i went with the medium. i’m excited for it to get here.

it should be here by next week, so i’m hoping it fits because it would be tragic if it didn’t.

happy gday to the goat drizzy. alan noticed it was his birthday in lab and he was spinning all the hits the whole day. i done forgot about some of drake’s songs, but his catalog is immaculate. i don’t see anybody touching his catalog for a long, long time.

i know i’ve had the whole week off but having a day off at home before the work week is the move. i used to fly in the day before, or even the same day, and work. that was way too much.

a full house, 10.22.22

i came home from raleigh today to a full house. my aunt, uncle, and cousin came from cambodia yesterday to live with us. there is a clear language-barrier, and its definitely my fault lol. i’m hoping i can teach them some english as they can teach me more khmer. growing up, my sister and my brother were decently older than me so i didn’t get to experience a full house. now that i’m older, i can appreciate having a lot of people in the house. i think it’s because i’m at the age where i can see myself starting a family in the next decade. i want a booming and bustling house with like 3 dogs and 4 kids. anyways, it’s exciting having my uncle, aunt, and cousin here.

there’s always someone to talk to, and more importantly, there’s always someone to eat with.
