duke lost to unc in cameron for coach k’s last
game. man, what a bummer. coach k said the season’s not over yet, and i’m
hoping this loss leads us to at least 2 more banners. acc tourney next week,
and the ncaa tourney the week after.

there’s this thing called wordle where you have 6
guesses to guess the correct 5 letter word. my coworkers have been doing it for a
while and i’ve been hearing the buzz around social media, but i’ve never tried
it. i did my first one today. it’s a really good brain exercise. today’s word
was ‘ahead.’ you can only do one per day, but i found a website with the wordle
archives.
i’ll try not to get too distracted, but my excuse is that it’s good for the brain.

the week is dragging on. i can’t wait until the weekend. actually, i can’t wait until next week. i think i’ll make that move to nyc for the acc tourney. ima buy tickets to the championship game in hopes duke will be in it. better yet in hopes they’ll win it. i gotta see this if it’s the last time. plus the bonus for last year and salary readjustment hits tomorrow so i’m looking forward to that.
even though it’ll be a good start to my days off, i don’t want to spend my whole life looking forward to the weekends.

i sent money a track last night after i finished recording for his thoughts. the reason why i hit money with a track is because he knows the sound i’m going for, we’ve made music together, and most importantly, i trust him. he said the energy wasn’t there at times and gave me a recommendation to hit the studio as soon as i wake up. i just got done recording, and it sounds a lot better after taking in his recommendations. i gotta send him an updated version, but i will after i rerecord the hook as well. it pays to have people in your corner that believe in you, yet are honest when you aren’t tapping into your potential.
ironically though, i could never repay them back.

first off, happy gday to my dog chaz. 30 this year, this the decade everything changes for you, for us my guy! tonight, i went back and reworked been tryin’ in the studio. it turned out better than the first version, but still improvements have to be made. i usually wait until late night to record because for some reason i’m still self-conscious of if my parents can hear me recording or not, but they say in order to change life you have to change yourself first. so here i am, changing my habits little by little. i got a good 1 hour session in while watching coach k and company smack up on pittsburgh in duke’s final acc road game this season. actually, it’s coach k’s last acc road game. damn, this is sad frfr. saturday will be his last game at cameron, and it’ll be a good one against unc.
coach k has coached duke basketball my whole life, literally.
i’m not ready to see him go.

that’s two wfh days in a row. i have a meeting with my boss at 12pm, but that’s about it for the day. we’re in the middle of moving the process development lab from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor, but the company hired people to do all the heavy lifting. we packed last week, so there wasn’t much to do onsite today. i opted to stay home due to covid guidelines, and ironically it could not have presented a better opportunity to be productive.

i hit up chaz after i got out the shower tonight. i was listening to music thinking how we gotta do a track together, and how we gotta make moves. he was on the way back from cookout with his girl. when i heard that, i began craving my ¼ cheeseburger tray with mayo/ketchup, nuggets, cajun fries, with cheerwine. we talk about music and work and how this 9-5 isn’t going to cut it. i told chaz i think we got something and he told me don’t think, know we got something. i asked him if he thought it was too late to get it poppin, and he said nah we at the perfect age. i guess i’m so scared of my dreams, i be finding ways to run away from them, but i know the regret going to eat me alive if i run any more.
i gotta make it back home soon, we got some work to do.

it’s been over a year since i’ve had wingstop, since i left charlotte. the closest one to me is 25-30 minutes away towards boston. tonight, i said fuck it and drove there. i ordered and ate in my car while talking to e. they were loading dump trucks of snow and driving it off to what i presume is the charles river while i was eating lemon pepper wings in the sequoia. they seasoned the lemon pepper liberally, and the fries complemented them perfectly. i forgot how good the wingstop honey mustard is. damn do i miss it being 5 minutes away from my house. you never know what you got until it’s gone.
for sure now i know what i had.

russia invaded ukraine. i try not to speak on politics, but i saw a clip on the news tonight of a russian tank running over a car. it completely smashed the car, and i’m sure whoever was in the vehicle died. awful, terribly awful. i hope and pray for the ukranian citizens and president zelenskyy. he’s not evacuating and he’s standing with his people, that’s a true leader. i’ve been googling his name various times throughout my day praying for his safety. it’s snowing heavily outside, so i’ve been attempting to work from home, but my mind is elsewhere.
i hope this all stops soon.

i wish i could call you up today. i finally got my pink bff after all these years. there was a restock a few years ago, and i told you i’d wait 5 minutes to try and check out because i needed to save money. we all know how that went, 5 minutes later sold out. they dropped the grey/pink family on valentine’s day, and i actually copped the manny way. i was shocked i got through, but i’m sure you had something to do with it. the packaged arrived today and it’s beautiful brodie. wish i could celebrate these small w’s with you, it still hurts living this life without you.
