i stayed up until 5am this morning attempting to update protools because i wanted to begin recording coming home late. i kept getting error 1316, and tried at least 11 installs of a 2.1 gig program on my laptop. i woke up at 11am and have tried 3 times since. nothing works. i keep getting error 1316. on top of that, the internet has went out multiple times since the the sequence of installations commenced. i decided to go on a walk with bagel and call my mom, but as soon as i checked my phone, it said no service. i almost lost my patience. i raised my hand up motioning to throw my phone at the ground, but i regained composure by looking at bagel. halfway through the walk, a car pulls in a driveway at a cul-de-sac while btg and i are circling around. out comes a middle-aged man and who i’m assuming is his daughter. his daughter had to be 5 or 6 years old if i had to guess. i had never seen them before, but walk by their house everyday. she ran down her driveway and stood there waiting for a second. she waved to bagel and i, and we waved back. then she jets up the drive way to go into her house.
walking back home, i felt good. her gesture immediately uplifted my mood. when i got home i felt refreshed and went about another way of installing the latest version of protools. i downloaded a force uninstaller, uninstalled protools, and reinstalled it again.
and what do you know? it worked!!
it’s amazing how a shift in mindset can manifest results.
it’s also amazing how effortlessly kids can change the world without realizing it.
