although it’s wednesday, today felt more like a friday or a saturday. it was a beautiful day, mid-60’s with little humidity. after i came home from the gym, i felt an urge to clean my room. i ended up cleaning the whole house. vacuumed every room and cleaned the base boards. as i was finishing up in the living room–a room nobody goes into– i noticed i was vacuuming a lot of dead wasps. they were fairly large, too. when i went to clean the windows, i pulled the blinds up and to my surprise there were two live wasps hanging on the sill. i dipped after. my cleaning was done. i hate wasps, but what was strange is when i researched my issue, it’s fairly common, especially during the winter months. wasps in the house means two things, there is a wasp nest nearby the house and there is a break in the seal of window. having vacuumed 11 dead wasp bodies, it must’ve meant they’ve been coming in for who knows how long. nobody in the house knew, which leads me to believe a lie i thought my parents had told me my whole childhood was in fact true. my dad used to tell me if you leave wasps alone, they will leave you alone. he said wasps and bees like to mind their business.
i guess it’s true.
