i downloaded an app today called sweatcoin. you can earn points for prizes (i use prizes loosely) by walking. the only issue is it only counts your outdoor steps. here’s the thing as well, per 1,000 steps, you get .95 ponts. here’s another catch, they have different plans with different daily limits. the plans come with their own costs as well. the breaker plan is the most quantitative plan, allowing you to receive up to 20 points per day, approximately 21k outdoor steps with the .05 commission sweatcoin takes. not only that, you are only allowed to make 600 points per month at a cost of 30 points per month with the breaker plan.

they attempt to entice people with 1,000 dollar paypal gifts. the issue is, once broken down, it is impossible to get prizes like these. in order to obtain 1,000 dollars one needs 20k points. 20k points is approximately 21 million steps. not only that, you would have to do that in 18 months. while it is possible to achieve 21 million steps in 18 months, it is not possible to obtain said prize due to the constraints they set by only allowing you to obtain a maximum of 20 points a day. at a cap of 140 points a week, at week 78 you would only have attained 10,920 points. shit is a fraud to the feeble-minded when it comes to prizes, but i appreciate the effort to get people up and active.

i’ll keep the app because i walk everyday regardless. might as well be able to come up on something while i’m at it.
