today was the grand opening of urec, the new gym on campus. it’s fucking huge. inbetween classes, on break, i went to check it out to work out, and it was busy, busy. apparently they were giving out shirts and other promotional items, so that was the explanation for the foot traffic. i went there to work out and all i could see was people with green totes and granola bars. my last workout before leaving the gym was a superset of dumbell bench and incline chest press. i had my phone in my pocket and it fell out on to the ground when i laid on the bench. i didn’t find out until i put the weights down on the ground. i dropped 35lb dumbells on my phone with force. all of a sudden, everything went quiet, and the screen was shattered. the phone was bricked. i was under the impression i had to get another phone, until it just turned back on a few minutes ago. this is 3 hours after the fact. the screen lights up, the messages loaded, and the sound works. everything seems to be in working order, and i hope that it will continue to be because i do not want to upgrade anytime soon.
i gotta be more cautious with my electronics while i’m at the gym from now on.
