traveling patches, 7.22.20

there was a grand idea i saw on facebook a while back on the sequoia group. people had velcroed patches to their headliner. it looked so neat, and gave way to another avenue of customization. i view customizing as a way of making things mine, ie: taking ownership. customizing is expression in every sense. whether it be how you dress, how you decorate your room, how you choose to do your hair, etc, etc. i thought of putting sports patches on my headliner, but it felt like i was throwing up patches just to throw them up. last week, i sat and thought about what else i could put up, and it came to me as i remembered all the places i’ve been in the sequoia. i’ve known the sequoia since it was brand new in 2004, when i was 11. i’m 27 now, so that’s 16 years of memories this vehicle has given not only my family, but me individually. i ordered patches from parks i’ve been to and places i’ve traveled to in the sequoia. it felt right because this suv is a damn tank that has been everywhere the family has been for over a decade and a half. i began ordering patches from places i’ve actually drove the sequoia to in north carolina. next, i’ll order patches from places out of state i’ve driven to. these patches will serve as a bright reminder of all the places i’ve been with all the people i love, as well as inspiration to keep traveling, keep loving, and keep exploring.

man, where to next??

and with who???
