last night yhosh sent me a fb friend request. i’m thinking, we been friends on fb, we been brothers in real life. i haven’t spoken to him in maybe 4/5 years. confused, i went to his page. there was a public status stating he had been hacked and if you’re not convinced to call him. i end up calling him. come to find out, it was him. we spent 2 hours talking, catching up, rapping, talking about music, life, politics, etc. i told him no matter what happens, i couldn’t get rid of the bug to make music. it was ironic because he wrote a verse for the first time in a while a week ago. more on this convo later, but yhosh always tells me something that resonates with me every time we speak. every. time. he explained how hip-hop used to be a young mans sport, but as generations grow older, they need older artists talking about what they’re going through. i thought that was an astute observation. then he went on to say how we’re like hamsters on a wheel. yhosh said we gotta plan to jump off the wheel, but we can’t jump off the wheel without a plan.
damn.
genius-level thinking from my brother.
