after ecology today, i went to professor goff’s office to review my exam. we of course went back and forth over the semantics of his multiple choice questions, but we also spoke on real-life experiences and life in general. never in my college career have i connected with a professor and developed a relationship beyond grades and course evaluations. professor goff is stand-up guy, and what i respect most about him is his openess to being wrong, because being wrong means you can be taught, and being taught means you can improve, which is something we all should strive to do. coach k is the goat college coach, yet he strives to improve every time he hits the court with his team. michael jordan is the greatest, yet he was still searching for improvement 24/7 obsessively. kobe, lil wayne, i could go on and on, but point is: having a professor who is so eager to learn that they aren’t afraid of being wrong in hopes they can lead themselves to improvement is something that students can find to be of such value in this classroom of life.
