i was on the phone last night with my dad and we talked about the photos he sent me a few nights ago of a shed he built. it looks great and i am in no exaggeration super-impressed by it. as i’ve gained some life experience under my belt, i’ve become more appreciative of construction and infrastructure. conceptually, it’s easy to attempt to build something as simple as let’s say a box. but to actually construct a box takes mathematic precision, understanding of equipment, and patience. he built a shed, and did all aspects from the ground up from the roofing, to the cutting of wood, to constructing the door/lock mechanisms, to its design. he does everything. i’m convinced there is nothing my dad cannot do. it’s inspiring to say the least. he’s a research chemist by day developing vaccines to save lives, but after-work and on the weekends he’s superman. 100% of the time though, he’s my dad.
and i think that’s pretty cool.
