real customer service, 8.24.18

moving is such an inconvenience. today i switched/transferred all of the utilities to the new place. all of them were easy and simple with the exception of duke energy. when i called, i was prompted by an automated machine. eventually, i was connected to a real human being. there was a glitch in the automated system that wouldn’t let her transfer my account because the automated system had already scheduled a shut-off of services next week. it took 35 minutes being on the phone before things got figured out the way they were supposed to. the lady i was speaking with was the epitome of great customer service. she was comforting, willing to try numerous different pathways to my desired outcome, and she was very polite. 

it’s quite refreshing to receive excellent customer service and talk to a real person.
