ponytail palm chronicles, 8.29.20

i started my indoor plant family with a succulent and a ponytail palm. to be technical, the ponytail palm is a succulent, but that is neither here nor there. i didn’t water it for a few weeks and brown tips were growing. i trimmed them and watered the pony tail palm. now the tips are getting brown again! thinking it was underwatered (i was wrong), i watered it again. then i did some more research and turns out brown tips can be from lack of sunlight as well. i took the plant outside, turned it upside down, and let all the water drip out. i let it sit out in the sun, and will be doing this from now on. there isn’t enough natural sunlight in my room for a plant like this to thrive. maybe in a few years, it’ll grow to a few feet tall. maybe not with the way things are going. also, my succulent is shriveling up, which i think could be due to underwatering, but at this point who knows. these are two plants that require little to no maintenance and i am still messing up. how will i ever make it to a calathea or to a full blown garden with fruits and veggies when i build my own cribo??

definitely no green thumbing over here, but i’m still trying my best.
