i get home from work today and there’s a package on the counter. i look at it and it’s from dbaze. i go to my room to open it and it’s a crenshaw shirt in lakers colors. i immediately ft him and ask him what is he doing buying me expensive stuff lol. man, the shirt is so fire!! it’s a reminder of nip and kobe, two of the greatest influences in my life. he said when he saw it, he had to cop two, one for me, and one for himself. so of course when i call him, we end up laughing and talking about a bunch of other things from life, to women, to our parents, to whatever it is that’s on our minds. i’m lucky to have the people i have in my life, i truly am. i don’t say this because dbaze copped me a shirt, i say this because when people think of you whether it be a gift, a phone call, or a text, it’s special. people are busy in their own lives, understand that. dbaze and i talk to each other damn near every day, and that is a gift i don’t take for granted.
this life is full of possibility, both good and bad, but when it comes down to those in my life, i’ve hit the lottery.
