growing up, there’s things we take for granted. some things we don’t think about ending or changing because we’ve become so accustomed to how those things are. then and even now, sports has always played a big role in my life. i think it’s because i’m super-competitive and i love challenges. when kobe retired, it hit me in my soul. not that i thought he’d play forever, it’s just i never thought about the moment he’d hang it up. i cried his last game at staples. that’s why i’m trying to take in phil’s last few years in the league as much as i can. been watching him since i was 10 and i find myself wanting him to win a ring more than ever now.

tonight, wade and lebron played each other for the last time. father time is catching up with father prime and it’s getting tough for me to handle. kg and i would debate kobe vs wade all the damn time in middle school and high school. i would say playing the heat were my two favorite games to watch during the regular season for a handful of years. it was always the christmas game, too which made things all the more special.

spent a lot of time watching these guys growing up, but time is fair to everyone, so while i’m growing up, they’re growing older.
