i’ve been avoiding cutting bagel’s nails for his entire life. i take him to petco and tip the groomer, then call it a day. they always do such a phenomenal job. today though, i guess per covid-19 regulation, both petsmart and petco are only doing nail clippings with bathing appointments. more than getting his nails clipped, bagel hates getting a bath so that was a no go. it’d be hell for him to be with strangers giving him a bath and then a nail-clipping. i always told him if he had to go through hell, we’d do it together, so here we are. petsmart price matched a nail dremel tool from chewy. i’ve been at it for the past 30 minutes trying to get bagel used to it, and so far we’ve gotten to where the dremel tool can touch his nail for a split second before he pulls his paw away. i’m going to give it a break, and revisit his paw 30 minutes at a time per day until we both get used to it.
we’ve got a long way to go, but progress is being made.
