a lady pulled up in a beamer and came into work today. she seemed stressed out as i asked her how she was doing. she told me she lives in durham and had gotten a new job with great pay, so she comes to charlotte for business m-th. because it was near closing, we were sold out of a lot of the meals she wanted. she eventually revealed to me that her boyfriend broke up with her last night at dinner, and that she’s unsure if the money at her new job is worth her time. she’s in her mid-30’s but didn’t look like so. i told her i thought her life was the perfect synopsis for a rom-com, and that she would meet somebody soon. i told her to keep me updated and she said she would next monday. do you ever think about what it would be like to have someone else’s problems for one day? like what if i had a great paying job that allowed me to travel, but i had a gf that just broke up with me? seems better than the stagnant predicament i’m in now, but as they say, the grass is always greener on the other side. sometimes i get so intrigued by the lives of others.
i wonder what that says about mine…
