tonight, i watched a mickey mouse christmas special from 1999. they had 3 shorts which was equivalent to about an hour-long special. the last short was of mickey and minnie. they were living together, but were broke. minnie wanted to get mickey a case for his harmonica and mickey wanted to get a gold chain for minnie’s watch. turns out, they sold their prized possessions to get what they wanted for each other. it was a nice holiday story with a great take home message: holidays are about spending time with those closest to us, and everything else–gifts included– are extra.
