alex trebek died today. from watching jeopardy with my dad when he came home from work as a kid to being able to enjoy jeopardy now as an adult, alex was a constant of my life i had underappreciated throughout all these years. growing up and getting used to things in life, you never think about the end of expectations. i always expected kobe to keep playing. i always thought philip rivers would suit up for the san diego chargers. i always expect coach k to be on the sideline at duke. i always thought alex trebek would host jeopardy. getting used to constant makes facing conclusion tougher than it already is. i not only want to pray for alex and those who loved him, but i want to thank him from the bottom of my heart. jeopardy will never be the same.
in fact, the world won’t either.
