america is the greatest country in the world. social media sjws boycotting the united states independence day attempting to guilt trip anyone who celebrates july 4th trip me out. every country has a past. some say how can we celebrate a country that had slaves, yet countries they immigrated from, from which their association they are nationalistic about, had/have slaves. society was built on slavery, unfortunately, but the us was one of the first countries to abolish slavery. furthermore, why not condemn african countries for trading their own to another country? why is the united states the sole perpertrator when reparation or slavery comes up? others say we stole land, well wars have been fought over colonization since the beginning of human society? there is a stigma associated with being proud to be an american, but as the son of two cambodian refugees, i’ll never be ashamed to be american. if people hate this country so much, they have the freedom to leave. this country was built on freedom and i find it ironic how people refuse to exercise that right when given the opportunity as they complain perpetually to no avail. july 4th should be a time to celebrate us, our differences, and how far we’ve come as a nation.
and celebrate i’ll do with wingstop, time with bagel, and fireworks.
happy 4th, be miserable if you want!!!
