my mom made turkey jerky for bagel and sent it in the mail. when we stepped out for a walk, the jerky was on the ground delivered to our front door! there were ants all over the box and in the jerky. they had gotten in shortly after the box had been placed down by the delivery driver i’m assuming. i wiped the ants off the box with a rag before bringing it in and then submerged the bag of jerky in the sink. there were hundreds of ants on the jerky, but i could not let this go to waste. i let it sit for 5 minutes and then began washing dead ants off the jerky one by one. once finished, i put all of the jerky in the oven to bake and return to original crispness.
i just gave bagel a piece a few minutes ago and he’s in love.
