my dad wants to build a deck before the cold begins, which means he has 6 weeks max. because of this, we had to expedite the ordering and begin the process immediately. today we went to a home depot in new hampshire to rent out an auger. to be honest, the auger didn’t really help us dig holes as it was intended. since this is the northeast, there are just too many rocks in the ground, heavy ones, too. digging holes seems like it’s easy, but that shit is crazy tiring. our goal was 4 feet deep by 1 feet wide holes, and it took almost 2 hours to get just one.
crazy to think those kids in holes were digging 5 feet deep by 5 feet wide holes.
looks like we got our work cut out for us moving forward.
