dbaze and i were texting about true crime and he sends me a few podcasts. i began one called in your own backyard. it’s about a student named kristin smart who went missing after a college party in 1996. til this day, nobody knows where she is and she was thought to be dead in 2002. the only person of interest hasn’t cooperated with the police force, but also, the police force has dropped a few balls along the way, too. they didn’t interview suspects quickly enough. they didn’t take the missing person’s case seriously for a few days because they thought kristin was away for memorial weekend. they also lost an earring suspected to be kristin’s that had what appeared to be blood on it.
ugh, i hate that it’s been 24 years and the family still doesn’t have closure.
