between now and graduation, i have 13 hours of
electives i have to fill. i wanted to take a class where i could finesse an
easy a, so i picked geography. i believe we have interests and passions.
interests are our breaks from passion as passion demands greatness from us
which can be overwhelming at times. i’m passionate about biology, but i have
other interests, too. geography is one of them. to make a memory on this
timeline, you have to have time and place. i’ve already expressed my obsession
with time, but i have yet to explore space. our first in-class assignment was
to draw the world. i drew the globe and turned it in. the professor is kind and
funny. she began the class acknowledging the elephant in the room which was the
shooting that took place last semester. she taught one of the kids who passed,
and she told us that if we ever needed anything, to come to her. she insinuated
she almost didn’t make it during her time in undergrad if it wasn’t for faculty
and staff. after her emotional monologue, she stated ‘alright let’s cut the
shit, welcome to geography.’
that shit had me dying of laughter.
i’m really looking forward to this class.
