my dad helped develop a pneumococcal vaccine in prevnar 13. it is one of the leading vaccines for pneumonia on the market even after all these years. what’s crazy is today i got a prevnar 13 shot in my right arm. a pa came in with the vaccine. she forgot the alcohol wipe, but retrieved one quickly. as she gave me the shot, she told me i may have soreness in my arm for the rest of the day. i was thinking how insane it is that my dad (my dad!!!) developed this vaccine. he told me years ago that they vaccinated children and people in africa and asia, and how it felt good he was helping to make the world a better place. not only did he help those people, but today his youngest son was the beneficiary of his hard work and dedication. bruh, my dad helped develop prevnar 13.
