after work tonight, i took bagel on a walk. on the way back, two black ladies who i’ve always seen, introduced themselves to me. it’s been years, and we’ve spoken to each other on several occasions, almost daily, but have never introduced ourselves to one another. come to think about it, that is a bit out of the ordinary. they are super kind, and have two very polite kids. one of the ladies tonight said she’d ‘pray for me’ because i was walking bagel after an 8 hour shift close to midnight after walking him earlier as well. it’s amazing how you can build relationships with people without even knowing the simplest things such as their name.
strange how that works, huh?
