my second walk with bagel today was eventful, for the observationalist at least. upon getting into houston hills, there’s kids riding dirt bikes. there were friends hanging by the park and a mother pushing her kid on the swing set. bagel took did the number two two times, which never happens. the honey suckles were prime as their sweet aroma filled part of our walk. there was a high school kid walking and i asked him if he wasn’t hot walking in all black jokingly, and he told me he was coming home from work, then i told him getting paper is a must as he agreed and we walked past each other. about 200 feet later, there’s a woodpecker pecking on the window of a lexus sedan. i don’t think i had ever seen one in person before, it looked a lot different from the generic birds usually flying around this area. the pecks were extremely violent and aggressive. birds lowkey scare me, so that’s that.
more than a few honks and waves, today’s walk was a reminder life goes on. it happens even when we feel it doesn’t.
