i came across a news segment on kids being emo. it was from 12 years ago in 2007. they went on to say how teenagers cut themselves, feel sorry for themselves, and listen to suicidal lyrics. not that any of that is funny, but damn, looking back on it, that shit got me in tears lol. having grown up around/in the emo phase, that wave was the epitome of teenage angst. it was like the world was against you, and you only. i believe that’s how most, if not all, teenagers feel growing into adulthood, almost like going through an emo phase was a rite of passage of some sort. some days i miss being that naive. being cold just gets tiresome after a while.
i wish i could feel more these days, but it seems like there’s less out here now.
