on the phone with my dad tonight, we discussed several topics. from stocks, to politics, to masters programs, to doctoral degrees, etc. one thing that stuck was when he said he had dreamed of walking through the chapel on duke’s campus. he envisioned it and it happened to him after hardwork and dedication. he saw it through to the end. one of his professors told him he needed 3 things. 1. a degree. 2. money (a stipend/scholarship). 3. motivation. my dad’s professor told him he could help out with the first two through guidance and letters of recommendation, but only my dad could come up with the third. not only did he hit on the 3rd, but he grandslammed it out of the park. i can only imagine how good it feels to manifest a vision into reality, into real life. there’s things i’ve dreamed of since i was 11 and i’m still eagerly waiting for those moments to become.
i don’t know what life has to offer me at the moment nor what i should be doing, but i’m beginning to think waiting isn’t the way to go.
