dq memories, 9.28.19

two sweet ladies came into get fit to check it out while i was working today. they were at the dq adjacent to the shop. one of the ladies said she used to live here growing up, but that she now lives in concord. she wanted to come to the dq one last time before they knock it down in october/november. apparently she has memories at this exact dq dating back to when she was 4 years old. she is in her late 50’s/early 60’s now. i hate that they are getting rid of the dq next door. it’s been around since the 1950’s or some shit. it’s a landmark in plaza. if it were up to me, i would renovate the building plus the lot and call it a day. many people of different generations have many different memories here.

goes to show we never fully realize the significance of a place until it’s time to part ways.

life calls it taking things for granted.

or something like that.
