corporate america bs, 7.8.25

corporate america is much different than what i thought it would be. there’s a biasness that runs from top down and when you ask why that is, nobody has an answer. the people who say they’re vouching for you will only do so if it sheds them in a positive light, if not, they’ll step on you. anything that goes against the bias (as unfair and unjustified as it is) will never catch traction as nobody wants to sacrifice the possibility of a promotion (no matter how small) to stand up for someone or something else even if it’s the right thing to do. i had a former boss tell me today i didn’t get an award because i didn’t go to oklahoma to work with our cmo last year. i vividly remember him asking me in the cafe but i had to decline because i either had an appointment or had to travel for ta’s funeral. either way, the reason i couldn’t make it was out of my control as he asked me last minute. then he said the guy he gave it to was present. dog, i didn’t take a vacation until december. what the fuck is he talking about? this whole place is just a big fuck you to me and everytime i stand up for myself, they hold it against me. the biotech industry is in bad shape right now so finding another job will be difficult, though i am searching. more than that, i have to make it out of corporate america.

i’ve been trying and though they said you can never fail if you try, it sure feels like it these days…
