after a colts playoff berth and dinner at applebee’s, i went to observe a light display i’ve always wanted to see since the first time i came to charlotte. right outside the speedway, there is a pedestrian bridge. during the holidays, the city of concord puts up lights on the bridge reading ‘concord wishes you a happy holidays’ along with a nutcracker at the beginning of it. i parked on the side of the road and just took it in. the light display is nothing spectacular by any means, but it is a tradition i looked forward to driving by every year since i’ve been in charlotte. all these years i’ve been putting it off to come and see it up close.
when you know your time at a place is coming to an end, you end up doing the regular things you’ve taken for granted only to realize how special they really are.
